Shenandoah Shows its True Colors
9/14/2011 10:57:00 AM by Luray Caverns
The temperature will soon be dropping and the days are getting shorter. That's a sign that something magical which only occurs once a year is about to happen.  The leaves on the trees will soon change colors and the once green mountainsides will burst with brilliant red, orange and golden hues. This stunning display of nature's glory can be seen and enjoyed in so many ways.  From higher elevations, driving along the famous Skyline Drive is always the most popular.  But don't forget to explore the many miles of scenic drives that meander through the Blue Ridge Mountain shadows along the foothills of Shenandoah National Park for the breathtaking vistas of rolling farm fields and the fall discoveries awaiting in the quaint towns of the Shenandoah Valley..

Monitor foliage progress at www.nps.gov/shen or by phoning (540) 999-3500 (option 6), and plan your trip. Just don't miss out on autumn in the Blue Ridge Mountains this year.
